            Bug ID: 166026
Summary: Feature request - preference setting to disable or
turn off opening screen that defaults to Recent
                    Documents
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.8.5.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: macOS (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
For privacy reasons, this user would love the ability to not display the
opening screen that defaults to Recent Documents. Or, perhaps have the option
to NOT display this one item within the screen, and preserve the other options
in the left navigation bar. Having access to recent documents via the File
menu is still desirable, but not upon launch. While I am on Macs, perhaps this
could be OS-agnostic in a future update?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LibreOffice
2. There it is
3.

Actual Results:
Launching LibreOffice defaults to displaying the Recent Documents option in the
selection window.

Expected Results:
Preferred results would to NOT display recent activity in such a public manner
upon launch.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Either as a preference to remove this default selection during the startup
screen entirely, or not have the startup screen appear and let the user
navigate from the menubar.
