--- Comment #15 from Jonathan Clark <[email protected]> ---
Reproduced on Linux with:

Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: eeb8ca44ac7994c0552749e190a193a44c956769
CPU threads: 32; OS: Linux 6.11; UI render: default; VCL: x11
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: zh-CN
Calc: threaded

also with:

Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: eeb8ca44ac7994c0552749e190a193a44c956769
CPU threads: 32; OS: Linux 6.11; UI render: default; VCL: x11
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: ja-JP
Calc: threaded

but as a sanity check, not with English:

Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: eeb8ca44ac7994c0552749e190a193a44c956769
CPU threads: 32; OS: Linux 6.11; UI render: default; VCL: x11
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

So this seems to suggest we have a general problem drawing CJK UI text with
VCL, which is covered up by certain Linux backends.
