            Bug ID: 166307
Summary: Unable to Permanently Disable Auto-Updates in
LibreOffice 24.8.3.2 (and later) and 25.2.1 on Windows

                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
In LibreOffice version 24.8.3.2 (x86_64) (also 25.2.1) on Windows 11, it is
currently not possible to fully disable automatic updates. I have attempted the
following steps without success:

Registry Modifications: I was unable to identify a reliable registry key that
disables auto-updates. Any changes made had no effect.

Disabling the LibreOfficeMaintenance Service: Although I can stop and disable
this Windows service, LibreOffice prompts the user to reactivate it on every
launch, making this workaround ineffective.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install 24.8.3.2 with disabled Auto-Update
2.Restart LibreOffice (sometimes it takes several tries)

Actual Results:
LibreOffice continuously enforces or reinstates auto-update functionality, with
no effective way to opt out permanently.

Expected Results:
There should be a persistent method to disable automatic updates, either via
GUI, registry, or configuration file.

Reproducible: Always
