Bug ID: 166330
Summary: Improve readability of reference marks in dark mode
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.2.2.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
The light gray highlight color used for reference marks works well enough in
light mode, where the automatic text color is black. However, the automatic
text color is white when using dark mode, providing very low contrast with the
citation highlight color.
I suggest setting the text color of inline citations to black by default
instead of automatic. This would have no visible effect in light mode, but
would improve readability while using dark mode. Alternatively, reference marks
could display with dark highlights and white text while in dark mode.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Writer in dark mode.
2. Insert a cross-reference.
Actual Results:
Reference mark has white text and light grey highlight.
Expected Results:
Reference mark could/should have a text color that contrasts well with the
highlight.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
