            Bug ID: 166351
           Summary: EDITING: NAVIGATOR / styles in use -- "know your
                    styles in use"
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.0.0 alpha0+
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer

hi,

This is a very simple functionality, and I believe, it wouldn't be difficult to
implement it, either.

"Know your styles in use"

This information is sooo crucial.

The functionality could be be made available on 2 levels:

A :: document properties / statistics / "styles list"

B :: Navigator / styles in use

...................................

"A" is way simpler. We should focus on this.

The person using Writer needs to know which styles belong to the project, which
ones could be forgotten about.

In the Document properties window, there could be one tab: styles in use.

In that tab, there should be just links, like:

paragraph
character
page
etc
...
.
.

Links underlined, clickable.
Each would bring up a pop up text file.

Its top section (sheer text file) should have some info like:

file name
path (and machine name)
date-time of retrieving this list
(and more, perhaps)

That's it! :)

.................................

It could be restricted for master documents only!!! :)

It would be wise because most people using libreoffice but not editing text
documents just won't need it anyway, and whoever needs it is very-very probably
working on a master document...

Perhaps, instead of pop-up links, there could be a
"copy to clipboard" function!! :)
But it should be real text, which can be pasted into ANY text editor.

* * * thank you for developing Libreoffice and WRITER!!! :) * * * *
