Bug ID: 166484
Summary: Wordpad saves as spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Fresh formats, fresh downloads, Wordpad saves (automatically) as Spreadsheet in
outside appearance. It is automatically set to save in writer. However, when I
try to save it manually as Word 2003 XML format it says that it contains
formatting or content that cannot be saved in that format. It gives a pop-up
which says to use the default ODF file format. However, that seems to be
broken. When I click on the pop-up to save as OTF, it saves instead as ODT. The
inside appearance of the file is rtf, and it seems to be automatically saving
as rtf, despite the settings in Libre Office to automatically save in "Writer"
as a different format.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download Office Libre
2.Try to save a Wordpad file
3.Double-check on the pop-up to save as OTF, to see that it saves as ODT
instead.
Actual Results:
1. Download Office Libre and make certain that Word type documents auto-save to
"Writer" in the settings. 2. Try to save a file. 3. Double-check on the pop-up
to save as OTF, to see that it saves as ODT instead.
Expected Results:
It saved improperly as described above (It could be the last two versions --
someone else downloaded and one download was just a few days ago, whereas the
previous one might have been the former version)
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
It should save as it is automatically supposed to, to "Writer". It gives the
option of saving as an XML file, but it won't allow it to do such. It gives the
option of saving as OTF, and instead saves as ODT. It appears on the outside
like a spreadsheet, which it should not do.
