--- Comment #2 from [email protected] --- I had a sceptre external monitor connected to a thinkpad p51 laptop through HDMI. The monitor did not come with a DPI connector, so I had to use what I had on hand. I just received the mini DPI to DPI adapter cable, hooked it up, and voila. Problem solved. I'm not sure what the issue was, but now you know the cure. Thanks for your help.
