Hi Olivier,

Thanks again for following up and sharing the instructions.

I went through the full reset process as outlined — removing uno_packages and
registrymodifications.xcu, restarting LibreOffice, and installing WritingTool
cleanly.

I verified all related settings were properly configured:

Default document language, user interface, and locale were all set to English
(USA)

"Check grammar as you type" was enabled

WritingTool appeared as expected under grammar modules

The issue is that the grammar checkbox for WritingTool (and LanguageTool) does
not persist. I can check the box under the “Edit Modules” window (Language:
English USA), but it immediately reverts to unchecked after closing the dialog
— even after applying and restarting.

I also tested this behavior using LanguageTool as an alternative extension —
the result was identical. That seems to indicate a problem not with the
extension itself, but with how LibreOffice applies or retains grammar module
settings under macOS.

I’ve attached a screenshot to illustrate this issue — it applies to both
WritingTool and LanguageTool.

For now, I’ve resorted to using external grammar tools like LanguageTool’s
browser version, but I’d be happy to assist further with testing or logs if
needed.

Best regards,
Glen Lowinger
