            Bug ID: 166796
Summary: Program hangs when attempting to load a file from
                    PLACES frame in Windows
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.2.3.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
I use a Synology NAS. Sometimes it goes offline. If I try to load a file from
the windows PLACES frame and the folder/file is not available then, Libre
Writer locks up and eventually must be manually terminated.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.(Make sure to add a folder to PLACES in Windows Common File Dialog). Select
the folder then, in the frame on left side of dialog, click the + sign below it
to add it to PLACES
2.Rename the folder or make it offline/unavailable. I use a network attached
storage device and when I lose Internet, it does not automatically come back
online. A rename will do just as well to make the source unavailable
3.Attempt to open a file in that folder by clicking OPEN and then selecting the
folder from the PLACES frame. Even better, if you open the file before making
it unavailable, cancel that then click that file from the RECENT list

Actual Results:
Libre writer will hang, the progress indicator will just spin. Eventually
something times out and the program must be terminated (windows does this)

Expected Results:
The software should have loaded the file

Reproducible: Always
