Thank you for reporting the bug. I can confirm that the bug is present in both
versions of LibreOffice below running on Linux Mint.

Other notable behavior is that when attempting to change the Column A filter
from '1' to '2' in step 3, the '1' is visibly selected, but cannot be toggled
to deselect (it is greyed out/faded). Selecting the '2' adds to the
already-selected '1', but after 'OK' is chosen, the filter now shows '2' and
'4' as having been selected.
