            Bug ID: 166912
Summary: The AutoCorrect lists immediate after space needs some
                    coverage in Help
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.2.3.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Documentation
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

The AutoCorrect feature "Bulleted and numbered lists immediate after pressing
space" is not described in Help. For it to function, the

Behavior of the 'APPLY_NUMBERING_AFTER_SPACE' [1] Autocorrect selection
"Bulleted and numbered lists immediate after pressing space" seems dependent on
having the 'APPLY_NUMBERING' Autocorrect option "Bulleted and numbered lists.
Bullet symbol ●" checkbox also enabled. And that does not seem to match the
feature as described in Help, which only indicate on <Enter> but use the -, *,
or +.

The + <space> does not activate a list and requires the <enter>.

Bulleted and numbered lists. Bullet symbol:
Automatically creates a numbered list when you press Enter at the end of a line
that starts with a number followed by a period, a space, and text. If a line
starts with a hyphen (-), a plus sign (+), or an asterisk (*), followed by a
space, and text, a bulleted list is created when you press Enter.

To cancel automatic numbering when you press Enter at the end of a line that
starts with a numbering symbol, press Enter again.

note
The automatic numbering option is only applied to paragraphs formatted with
“Default Paragraph Style”, “Body Text” or “Body Text, Indented” paragraph
styles.

Choose Tools - AutoCorrect - AutoCorrect Options, click the Options tab, and
then select “Bulleted and numbered lists”.

Choose Tools - AutoCorrect, and ensure that While Typing is selected.

tip

“Default Paragraph Style”, “Body Text”, or “Body Text, Indented” paragraph
style.

To Create a Numbered or Bulleted List While You Type

list. You can also type a right parenthesis after the number instead of a
period , for example, 1) or i).

Enter a space, type your text, and then press Enter. The new paragraph
automatically receives the next number or bullet.

Press Enter again to finish the list.
