I'm using an LO nightly from yesterday and starting in Safe Mode.
In the first-startup dialog, in the Appearance pane, there's an "Apply" button.
Now:
* If you set a bitmap background and press Apply - nothing happens.
* If you switch from Light to Dark in the top drop-down listbox - the change is
instantaneous, no Apply necessary.
* The "Enable application theming"... well, I don't even know if that does
anything or not. Nothing I can notice anyway.
* "Use white document background" and press Apply -nothing happens.
* Switching icon themes - applies instantly.
What's more interesting, that switching from Light to Dark, or switching the
icon theme, also applies the background bitmap choice en passant.
