--- Comment #4 from Peter M. Berg <[email protected]> --- Bugzilla Response for Issue 167311 Comment Draft: Thank you very much, V Stuart Foote, for your detailed technical analysis and for reopening this issue. I really appreciate your clarification that this is indeed a different problem from Bug 114234. You are absolutely correct - this issue is specifically about OLE embedding and the viewport limitation, not about import/insert dialogs for multi-page documents. The distinction you made is very important. Just to provide some context: I discovered this limitation while working on an important IBM certification course. We needed to embed complete multi-page PDFs and Markdown documents into Writer documents for our course materials, but found that only the first page (or rather, just a portion of it) was visible in the embedded viewport. This issue is purely about display/viewing of the embedded content - we don't need the embedded documents to be editable, just fully visible with all pages accessible within the Writer document. Your technical explanation about the OLE viewport constraints and the difference between OLE handling versus pdfium-based image insertion is very helpful. The ability to extend the viewport to show the full extent of multi-page embedded documents would indeed be a valuable enhancement for document preparation workflows. Thank you again for your expertise and for ensuring this issue gets proper attention as a distinct enhancement request. Note: This response acknowledges the technical expertise, provides context for why the feature is needed, and confirms that it's about display rather than editing functionality.
