Bug ID: 168244
Summary: Not able to set a default location for LibreOffice to
save documents
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.0.4 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When I create a new text doc and then click the Save icon, the program does not
use the My Documents path entry under Tools - Path. Instead I get a default
path like C:\Users\rjeng\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\template on my Win
PC. The program is set to use a template as the default when I create a new
document, but I do not want to save the new document there. Same behavior on
Mac Mini M4 under MacOS 15.6.1.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Writer template is assigned as the default document template
2. Click Writer Document under Create on opening screen
3. Enter text in the document then click the Save icon in the toolbar or Sav As
from the File menu
4. Default save location is the template folder.
Actual Results:
The selected document path to save the newly created document is the LO
template folder.
Expected Results:
The initial path the document should be saved to should be the path saved at
Tools - LibreOffice - Paths - My Documents
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
