Right now in LibreOffice Calc, if you set the horizontal alignment to "Right," that's the default behavior — the text won’t overflow into the previous cells. Are there workarounds? Sure: you can set the alignment to "Filled," reduce the font size, or use auto-fit. But none of these are particularly elegant, and they don’t really solve the problem if you just want a clean clipping without changing anything else.
