Bug ID: 168667
Summary: Very Hard to Scroll Menus in Windows 11
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.5.2 release
Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: UI
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
LibreOffice uses short menus with scrolling. This can help if users have small
screens, or high text scaling, or both. But for now it's hard to scroll the
menus. It should be easier to recognize and scroll the menus.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Windows 11, set reasonable text scaling, e.g. 150%.
2. Open the File menu in LibreOffice.
Actual Results:
3. For me, it ends with Printer Settings, with a small down arrow. If I click
the arrow, it opens Properties. I can scroll the menu using arrow keys, or a
trackpad, but can't scroll it using the mouse pointer. I can't use wheels
without injury.
Expected Results:
4. It should be easier to see if there are more items above or below the
visible menu, and easiier to scroll to them.
Some possible suggestions:
5. The arrows could get a full row.
6. The up and down arrows could disappear if the top and bottom entries are
already in view.
7. Clicking on the arrows could scroll the menu, rather than opening the item
behind the arrow.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
