            Bug ID: 168879
Summary: Named range "Name Box" widget is too narrow to show
long names (show contents in hover tooltip?)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: Inherited From OOo
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

The "Name Box" widget in LibreOffice Calc, on the left of the formulas bar in
the main toolbar, is often too narrow for long/explicit cell/column/row ranges
names, and it's therefore difficult to quickly check the exact name of a range
without having to bring up the whole "Manage Names…" dialog (which is a ton of
extra steps to deal with).

It would be much nicer if I could see the full name of the range in a tooltip
widget when I hover the Name Box with the mouse (or even when I hover the
column / row, when the range is a whole column/row).

To reproduce, in a Calc spreadsheet:

1. Select column A and name it "col_amount_paid_forex_unchecked"
2. Select column B, and name it "col_amount_paid_forex_checked"
3. Select column A and try to read it. You can't easily do that,
as the Name Box is truncated to "col_amount_paid_f" (in the GTK3 version)

This is particularly problematic when you have ton of named ranges (I have
dozens per sheet).
