This is grammatically invalid. Generally,  'split' takes either a direct
object, or an indirect object via 'into'. The only (?) exception is the idiom
"split [something] in half".

The term 'decimal' also denotes a number in base-10 rather than base-16
(hexadecimal) or base-8 (octal). So "Recognize decimal fractions" or "Recognize
fractional decimal numbers" 

We could also think of bringing the two options closer together in phrasing to
emphasize the difference:

* " 12.34 is a fraction"
* " 12.34 are two numbers" 

and relegate the the phrase "base-10 fractional numbers" to the tooltips.
