Bug ID: 168693
Summary: white highlighting enabled in hidden way using dark
theme, black background and automatic text colour
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.1.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I have some dark theme issue on Writer, so I removed my whole LibreOffice
configuration.
On some old ODF text I have a white highlighting on white characters when I
have dark theme enabled, automatic colour for character and black page colour
background.
If I see:
Format/Character/Highlighting: None
But white characters with white (I don't know why) invisible but enabled white
highlighting option make me impossible to write. Text is full white.
If I want to use Writer with dark theme, with automatic colour and black
background I need to set:
Format/Character/Highlighting: Black colour.
For the whole text. Of course this is not a solution but a workaround to a bug.
And of course when I need to print the related PDF produced file I have again
select all the text and set:
Format/Character/Highlighting: None
Can you fix it?
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an old ODT file.
2. Set the dark theme.
3. Set black colour as page colour background.
4. Set whole text as automatic colour.
Actual Results:
White text with white highlighting colour.
Expected Results:
White text with none highlighting colour.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
On new document produced with LibreOffice 25 it doesn't happen. It happens with
some old document but don't ask me why why. I don't know.
I tried to copy the whole text and paste it in a new ODT file. It's the same.
I should copy the whole text, paste it in a "notepad editor" and then copy the
whole "notepad editor" text and paste into a new ODT file but this mean lost
the whole paragraph format (cursive, bold, title size and so on).
Version: 25.8.1.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

Tell me if I need to open some file unziping ODF file and report the
proprieties you need to know to fix this. Or tell me what to change in the
unzipped file. I need Writer. I use it everyday. If I come back to LibreOffice
25.2 the bug disappear.
