            Bug ID: 168746
Summary: Calc: Data Validity – freeze when selecting cell range
                    (Windows, v25.8.1)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.1.1 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
When using Data → Validity in Calc, LibreOffice 25.8.1 on Windows freezes as
soon as I try to select a cell range as the source. From that moment, I cannot
return to the sheet, switch tabs, or close the document. The program becomes
unresponsive and must be killed from Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc).

This issue does not happen in the Still release (downgrade tested), so it seems
to be a regression in the Fresh branch (25.8.1).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Calc and create a new spreadsheet.
2. Go to menu Data → Validity.
3. In the Criteria tab, choose “Cell range” as source.
4. Click on the button to shrink/select range (or try to select manually).
5. Calc becomes stuck: it is impossible to select cells, return to the sheet,
or close the window.

Actual Results:
Calc freezes and must be terminated via Task Manager.

Expected Results:
Should allow selecting a cell range for data validity without freezing.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Workaround:
1.Typing the cell range manually works.
2. Downgrading to Still release fixes the issue.
