            Bug ID: 168828
Summary: Libreoffice Writer cross-reference initially appears
fine, but eventually fails and displays a duplicate
                    reference to the prior object.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.1.1 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: macOS (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
I noticed an incorrect cross reference to a text box in my Writer document.
The affected paragraph has three cross references to three sequential text box
objects.
On several occasions after editing the document (sometimes after using the 'New
Window' facility to have multiple windows for ease of editing), I notice that
the middle reference reverts to become a copy of first reference. The third
cross reference in the sentence appears unaffected.
IMHO, this has happened on too many occasions to be a coincidence.

, using 'Category and Number' followed by 'Above/Below' from the 'Refer using:'
and 'Type' selection fields.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.In a paragraph, have a sequence of three cross references to three sequential
textbox objects, using Category and Number Above/Below. (For example: See Box1
above, Box2 below, Box3 below, etc.)
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Correctly displayed when initially applied.
After closing the file and editing it, sometimes using the 'New Window'
feature, the middle reference appears as a duplicate of the first reference.

Expected Results:
Keep the originally displayed cross reference.

Reproducible: Always
