            Bug ID: 168597
Summary: Selecting the language during installation
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.1.1 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Installation
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Greetings, LO team. Here's my problem:

The user can't select the language for the installation wizard. The language is
selected automatically in a way that appears to ignore system settings - my PC
is set up to use English, but LO nonetheless picks my native Croatian, perhaps
based on some other setting (location?). The problem is that the selected
language is not necessarily what the user wants or needs, it can very much be
the inferior choice. I have difficulties comprehending Croatian computer
vocabulary (which is very artificial and ordinary people don't use it), if I
want to google some option I'd have to translate the Croatian translation back
into English to get good results, and the translation includes a ridiculous
mistake that required back-translating for me to make sense of it (the word
"space" as in "space on the hard disk" was translated as if it referred to
"space between letters" - I'll try to fix that myself, but I'd rather just
avoid seeing this sort of stuff altogether).
Adding an option to manually select the language at the start of the
installation should be simple enough, I assume. I'd be very grateful if you did
it.

Cheers
