            Bug ID: 168903
Summary: VIEWING & FORMATTING: Non-breaking spaces in HTML
                    aren't shown and lose format
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.2.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Open Writer,
type ::abc::..def..
(that's dot for space and
colon for non-breaking space,
i.e. ctrl+shift+space).

Format all four non-breaking spaces
as Courier New (instead of Liberation Serif).

Save file as HTML.
No trimming yet is shown (bad).

Close and open file.
Turn on show formatting characters (mirrored P).
Two plain spaces surrounding def survived
(the one behind def, however, strangely: bad)
and are shown as dots (good).

All non-breaking spaces survived (good),
but aren't shown in any other way (BAD),
and lost their mono-font formatting (VERY BAD,
I need that for plain tables).

LO neither shows them under ODT file format (BAD).
OO instead shows them as gray boxes (good)
and only loses the format left of abc (still BAD).

I want to see the non-breaking spaces
and certainly don't want to lose their format.
