Since the grammar checker is language dependent, only languages with a grammar checker would be able to detect the "two spaces" problem. Thanks for confirming it still works in English. Windows installs the lightproof extension along with LO for (at least) English to provide the grammar checking. Sounds like NOTABUG or WORKSFORME.
