Bug ID: 168519
Summary: Copy/paste from LibreOffice causes overlapping text in
other applications (Garuda Linux, KDE Plasma, Wayland)
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.2.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When copying formatted text from LibreOffice Writer to other applications, the
pasted result often shows overlapping lines of text (characters from different
lines rendered on top of each other).
The problem happens randomly — sometimes paste works fine, sometimes it
produces corrupted, unreadable text. Restarting LibreOffice sometimes
temporarily fixes the issue.
The issue only happens when pasting with formatting. If I paste as plain text,
it works correctly.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Writer.
2. Select several lines of formatted text.
3. Copy (Ctrl+C).
4. Paste into another application (tested with Firefox, KDE apps, etc.).
Actual Results:
pasted text shows overlapping lines, making it unreadable.
Expected Results:
Formatted text should paste correctly without overlapping lines.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: No

target app may pick a broken one).
