Bug ID: 168975
Summary: Provide hotkeys to promote/demote the selected heading
with its subheadings
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.0.0 alpha0+ master
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Older versions of LO provided two separate methods to change the levels of
headings:
1. The Navigation panel showed a double left-arrow and double right-arrow
buttons. When I clicked on these buttons, the node was promoted and demoted
along with its sub-nodes. It affected both the outline level and the heading
levels.
But now the buttons are replaced with a single left/right green arrows, and
they only change the outline of the node (e.g. O2 <--> O3), and the outline
level of its subnodes is also moved; but their heading levels are not changed
simultaneously (e.g. H2 <--> H3).
As a result, there is no convenient method to change the heading level of any
chosen heading, along with all its subheadings (the entire lower hierarchy).
2. In the older LO versions, we could click at the start of any heading and
press TAB and SHFT+TAB to change its heading level.
But these hotkeys do not work anymore.
Thus, there is no convenient way to change the heading level of individual
heading also.
3. Bow the only way left is to use CTRL+1, CTRL+2, etc to directly assign a
heading level to each individual level. But this is both tedious and
error-prone.
Desired:
-------
1. Please provide separate buttons in the Navigation panel to promote/demote
the heading level of the selected node and its subheadings. (This is a bulk
method).
2. Please restore the TAB and SHFT+TAB hotkeys to promote/demote the heading
level of an individual heading. (Or provide any other hotkeys)
