            Bug ID: 169057
Summary: Edit Password protect UI dialog not showing bug
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.2.0.0 alpha0+ master
          Hardware: All
                OS: macOS (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
So I have been working on the Object Browser and I have been using this
password Edit protected file for testing. Which I created for the UI
improvement of the same Edit Password UI
https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/163924

Now, what happened is I am opening these 3 files from the restore file UI which
are this 1st Password Edit protected writer file with macro and 2nd is unsaved
Untitled 1 calc file with Macro and 3rd is unsaved file with no macro.

https://pasteboard.co/MKlV86mJsl6x.png

The first thing which I identified was the macro disabled message to the
unsaved calc file which doesn’t seems correct to me as I was able to edit the
macro of this file meanwhile the Edit Password Protected file showing this
message is correct. I was opening the Edit Password Dialog via the shortcut
Cmd+shft+M and I was consistently getting the Password Dialog.

Now yesterday while testing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCkbr8gSqdI I am
now no more getting the Edit Password Protect UI if I am launching the Edit
Password Dialog via the shortcut Cmd+shft+M it is just simply letting the file
into the Edit Mode.

Which is strange as now I am simply by passing Edit Password UI and directly
able to edit the file.

It could be the way I am launching the files as I am working on the Object
Browser and since it is crashing so when I launch the LibreOffice Dev via the
command line it launches this "LibreOfficeDev 26.2 Document Recovery" UI.

                            LibreOfficeDev 26.2 Document Recovery

LibreOfficeDev will attempt to recover the state of the files you were working
on before it crashed.
Click 'Recover Selected' to begin the process, or click 'Discard' to cancel the
recovery.

Status of recovered documents:

Recover Document Status
Untitled 1 Not recovered yet
Untitled 3 Not recovered yet
This Document is intended for something stupid lik Not recovered yet

                                              Recover Selected Discard All

Point.

The very first password UI is showing for the first time opening the file

• • • Enter Password - This Document is intended for something stupid like
really stupid and lets say it is just saving.odt - LibreOfficeDev

Enter password to open file:
file:///Users/devanshvarshney/Documents/This Document is intended for something
stupid like really stupid and lets say it is just saving.odt

-----------------------

It is the Edit Password Protect UI which is not showing up if I press
Cmd+SHFT+M which was earlier was showing.

Even if I am going via the Edit > Edit Mode it is just not showing up.

Actual Results:
It is the Edit Password Protect UI which is not showing up if I press
Cmd+SHFT+M which was earlier was showing.

Even if I am going via the Edit > Edit Mode it is just not showing up.

Expected Results:
The Edit Password protect UI should show no matter how the file is launched.

and the "Macros disabled Macros in this document are disabled due to the Macro
Security settings." should only to be shown on the document which is Edit
protected to my understanding.

Reproducible: Always
