The sample document contains a note on page 216 in the second image that footnote formatting in particular does not work properly in this version either. I took the risk of installing an old version of LO, acc. your bibisection I'd choose 7.3.1.2, details see below, which has its own shortcomings, but so far I haven't encountered this problem of unnecessary CPU load and slow saves. So reverting the patch you mentioned until repaired seems considerable. On some try to load the example document I'd get the error in attached screenshot, any hint on the source?
