Bug ID: 169130
Summary: Writer: Print to file to a network location doesn't
actually save/print the file.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.7.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Saving a file to a network location via the "Print to file" function doesn't
actually save the file even though it seems it has (no error is shown). Leading
the user to believe they've saved their work as a pdf file when they haven't.
Note: Using the "Export as -> Export as PDF" option and saving it in the
network location works just fine. It's specifically printing to file that
doesn't.
Note: I have only tested Writer, I haven't tested other LibreOffice programs.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Start a new document.
- Click on "File -> Print..."
- Under printer, select "Print to file..."
- Click on "Print to File..."
- Select a network location (in my testing case, the location is already
mounted and I don't have to clic on "Other Locations".
- Save in any folder (or even create a new one and save in it).
- Prompt closes, insinuating it's done but the file was not saved and no error
was shown.
Actual Results:
The file isn't there nor is any error shown.
Expected Results:
The saved file should be there.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
This does not happen when saving to the local drive, only to a network
location.
