You were not specific enough about how to set this font. Did you simply use the
dropdown from toolbar or sidebar? In that case, you were simply setting the
Latin font, not the CTL font. And the character "฿" belong to the CTL part
according to LibreOffice's categorization.

Try using the character formatting dialog from menu "Format > Character..." and
set the Complex Text Layout font in the "Font" tab to "Bai Jumjuree", and your
problem should be solved.
