No just distinction to be made between default os/DE theme (the Automatic w/o
appearance theme enabled) and the newly implemented at 25.2 but reworked at
25.8 LibreOffice appearance themes.  

Installation and activation of the appearance theme extension, or using a
different os/DE theme, gets you what you'd asked for--Scroll bars in a wider
format.

Can't really do too much about their shapes in the UI. That is a UI widget
issue, either native or VCL.
