You say that Thunderbird doesn't come close to Outlook, but it has a yearly budget of USD 7M. I believe the combined budgets of TDF and the companies working on LibreOffice don't add up to such a number. How, then, would we have the resources to maintain the existing applications and build a new, very complex application from scratch? This proposal has been rejected before and I will reject it once more. I use Thunderbird personally and I don't agree that it is lacking compared to Outlook.
