In addition the "bug" was introduced in some earlier version actually, but I
reported it, because it's still annoying.

I wonder:
When pasting via Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V then it's OK to continue the style at the
cursor, but when you insert via plain Ctrl+V, then the text should have the
same appearance (character-style-wise) as the original text. Otherwise it's
just messy.
Wouldn't the easy fix be to reset the character style to "no style" (default
style) before inserting via Ctrl+V?
(Maybe a similar issue exists when pasting multiple paragraphs (with paragraph
styles), but I do not use the too often, so I didn't notice whether there's a
similar issue there)
