Bug ID: 169599
Summary: New visual option for how Background colors interact
with cell lines
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Currently there are 2 visual options for how Background colors interact with
cell lines.
1) Background colors are on top of cell lines (default setting)
2) Cell lines are on top of background colors
This will probably not be considered but I am suggesting for a 3rd option to be
added or a modification for how the default setting currently functions.
I had originally reported this as a bug but it was explained that this is not a
bug but to mention as an enhancement
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=169260
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open new document
2.Add yellow background color to A1-C1
3.Add dark green background color A2-A10)
4.Look at where that dark green background comes in contact with yellow
background color in between A1-A2
(Just discovered recently)
With the example above
5.If you then select A1-C1 again
6.Then apply yellow background color again to A1-C1
Then this overlapping background color issue is no longer visible.
So this is also based on layers/level, which background color is added last.
Actual Results:
You will notice that that dark green background does not stop at the cell line
but goes into the yellow background a little.
This is not desired.
Expected Results:
Background colors should stop at cell lines, remaining in the cells that the
background colors are applied to.
I have gotten used to/prefer the "default" visual setting where background
colors are on top of grid lines, but grid lines show when there is no
background.
So I am suggesting to either add a 3rd visual setting that fixes the issue
mentioned, or if everyone agrees/this is possible, could just modify the
"default" visual setting to not have the background colors go into the other
cells.
Reproducible: Always
