Priority: medium
Bug ID: 66978
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FILEOPEN: Writer brakes references when loading
Microsoft Office documents in XML format
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
When loading a Microsoft Office document saved in XML format by MS Office, all
references are broken. Either an Error appears or the references will not be
properly updated.
Problem description:
Steps to reproduce:
1. Generate a DOCX document using MS Office with section or header references
2. Load in LibreOffice
Current behavior:
Cross-References are broken
Expected behavior:
Since cross-references in complex documents are very common and necessary AND
since most of the world still uses MS Office, this incompatibility makes
LibreOffice almost unusable for business work when interoperability with others
is required.
Since the option to load DOCX is offered, I would expect those files to load
correctly.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
