            Bug ID: 169673
Summary: Editing with Search [with or without replace] does not
find parenthesis, i.e. round brackets ( or )
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.1.1 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
I am obliged to search and replace certain repeated text from imported lists.
Some of the text is repeated, for example "(Accepted Name)". I should be able
to search for this text string and optionally replace it. However, Calc does
not find the string. I tested and eventually discovered that round brackets,
either the open parenthisis, "(", or the close parenthis, ")" can't be found or
replaced even when searching only for the single character. This makes it
impossible to replace any occurrence of parenthesis except manually, which is
often unrealistic to attempt.
I have not tested square brackets [ ], curly braces { } (also known as curly
brackets), and angle brackets < > (also known as chevrons).

There was no crash; Calc simply found nothing when asked to do the search and
waited for my next instruction.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Search in a text document for any string that includes either part or all of
the curved brackets.

2. Do same with search and replace function.
3.

Actual Results:
Search fails to find either the open or closed curved bracket.
If the searched for string contains either one of these two characters, search
will also fail.

Expected Results:
Search failed. The character or string containing it was not found.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Search should take me to the next instance [after the cursor position] where
the target character or string is located. If doing search and replace, the
required target or multiple instances of them should be found and replaced.
