> Emiliano: any ideas on this?

>From the top of my ignorance, I'd say it wouldn't be possible to use an
AppImage as default application to open a specific file type; but I might be
very wrong on this.

I don't know if it is even possible to expose multiple applications (which
pertain to the same AppImage) as options in the AppImage; hence, the actual
AppImages will open up the Start Center as default "entrypoint", to allow to
access to the various applications inside LibreOffice (Writer, Calc, etc.). No
direct opening for, say, Writer has ever been provided or assured.

The designed procedure to open files using LibreOffice as AppImage is as
follows:
* Start the AppImage by opening the .AppImage file (classically, with a double
click on the icon representing the .AppImage file);
* From the "File > Open..." menu or the button "Open File" just below the Menus
from the Start Center, point to the file to open;
* Enjoy editing the needed file.
