Bug ID: 169753
Summary: Hotkeys are language dependent, don't work in
non-Latin keyboard layout
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.3.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
As described by user Slava Nadvorny for a previous version (3.4.3):
"Hotkeys are language dependent and work in English language only.
While writing in any other language i.e. any Cyrillic, it's impossible to use
hotkeys, they just don't do anything. Switching to English input language
enable hotkeys once again."
This bug was apparently fixed in previous versions, judging from (many)
previous reports made made on the site. Sadly, it has re-emerged in the current
(25.8) version, at least for Linux users.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switching language to Greek / Hebrew
2. Trying to use hotkey combinations Ctrl + S, Ctrl + A, Ctrl + X
3. Switching back to English
Actual Results:
For Hebrew and Greek - File not saved; no text selected; no text cut.
For English - File saved; entire text selected; text cut.
Expected Results:
Each hotkey combination (Ctrl + S etc) should be followed by a given function,
as it does for English.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
As I mentioned, there is ample documentation for this bug already, which can be
