            Bug ID: 169771
Summary: Global option for disabling number recognition for
tables in libreoffice does not work. I like to use
equal signs in my writing and libre opens the cell
calculation bar. I DO NOT WANT THIS! MAKE IT SO I CAN
                    TURN IT OFF PERMANENTLY!!!!!!!
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.2.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Formula Editor
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Turning off global number recognition by going to TOOLS > OPTIONS > TABLES and
unchecking the box for NUMBER RECOGNITION under INPUT IN TABLES does not work;
it does not get disabled. Every time I enter an equals sign '=' in a cell in a
table, the formula bar for the cell pops up. I DO NOT WANT THIS, I WANT TO BE
ABLE TO TURN THIS OFF PERMANENTLY FOR ALL TABLES BUT I CAN'T! When I close the
formula bar using the red X Libre crashes and I lose all the work I was doing.
Please make the global option to disable the auto feature of goibng to the
calculation formula for a cell work or add another option to do this that does
work without crashing. Thanks.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. make a table in writer
2. turn off global number recognition in TOOLS > OPTIONS > TABLE
3. put an equals sign in a cell
4. the formula calculation bar shows up at the top of the document. I DO NOT
WANT THIS TO HAPPEN! THIS IS THE MAIN ISSUE.
5. close the formula calculation bar using the red circle with an X in it. I
don't want this bar opening in the first place. I want to permanently stop this
from happening but nothing works!
6. Sometimes when I close the formula calculation bar using the red circle with
the X the program crashes and I lose all unsaved date. Sometimes the bar closes
correctly and I still have all the work. Don't know why this happens but I am
in the habit of saving every time I make a change in case the program does
crash but doing this is a total pain the butt!

Actual Results:
what I said above

Expected Results:
global settings to stop number recognition in a table by unchecking the box for
it does not work.

Reproducible: Always
