--- Comment #112 from Peyton R <[email protected]> --- All of these questions about which printer is being used, which driver is being used, what file format is being used, etc. are off the mark. The problem is that LibreOffice checks the most recently used printer even if the user has no intention of printing anything. If the most recently used printer is unavailable, a dialog box pops up and Libreoffice hangs. (Thankyou to whoever put the Cancel button in the dialog box.) How to replicate: Open LO Writer. A new blank document is created. Print the empty document (or any other document) to the printer. Close LO Writer. Power off the printer all the way, or disconnect it from the network. Open LO writer. The default blank document opens up, then the annoying mini-window pops up. Environment: Windows 11, LibreOffice 25.2.7.1, network printer Solution: LibreOffice should not waste time checking to see if the default printer is there until the user actually asks to print the document, because most of the time the user only wants to edit the document, not print it, and not necessarily to the same printer as was previously used. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
