This is the size that remains when you enter your number and haven't validate it by pressing enter or clicking elsewhere, as you did. That's why it temporarily hides the adjacent cells to the right. But once you click and press Enter, the cells are visible again. You can look at the behavior of Excel MSO, same behavior.
