Bug ID: 169947
Summary: "Automatic" orientation ignores doc page orientation
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.3.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I have a bunch of envelopes I want to print. The paper size is approximately
5.25" x 7.25".
Limitation: my printer does not like these envelopes to be in landscape
orientation, that makes it jam. So, I set the Printer Settings -> Properties to
5x8", Portrait.
In Writer, I set Format -> Page Style -> Page to 5.25" x 7.25", Landscape. The
in-doc page looks great, landscape mode and is the right size.
When I go to Print..., I set Paper Size to 5.00in x 8.00in and Orientation to
Automatic.
This sounds good in theory, but always wants to print the text upright – but
since the printer feed orientation is Portrait, it comes out sideways.
Note, this is the same end result if I choose "Portrait" in Print window.
If I choose "Landscape" there, it print out perfectly.
