Bug ID: 170061
Summary: Table number formatting causes numbers to stop being
recognized as numbers by formulas
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.3.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
If a number is formatted using number formatting, Writer stops recognizing it
as a number for the purposes of formulas.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a 3x6 table, with the cells in the last column containing "Hours",
"1.75", "0.25", "2", "2.75", and the formula `=SUM(<C2:C5>)`.
2. Observe the correct total 6.75
3. Select cells C2 through C6.
4. Table -> Number Format..., then enter the format `0.??`.
5. Edit the cell containing "2" (now formatted as "2. ") to change the digit
"2" to "3".
6. Observe that the total is now 4.75, ignoring that cell entirely.
Actual Results:
Incorrect total, because numbers are not recognized as numbers.
Expected Results:
Correct total, numbers recognized as numbers.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
