For me, "invoice" becomes capitalised when I press Space after 123, so Enter is
not needed. If I press Enter immediately after typing "invoice 123", "invoice"
becomes capitalised. If I press Tab instead of Enter, "invoice" still becomes
capitalised. The same is true if I do the "Edit the copy of the cell, changing
123 to 124" test for content where "invoice" is lowercase initially.

So I am unable to find steps for reproducing the inconsistency between Enter
and Tab.
