--- Comment #27 from Eyal Rozenberg <[email protected]> --- I'm (In reply to Jeff Fortin Tam from comment #26) > I found the "File > Properties > Fonts > Font Embedding" settings > very confusing Agreed, they are very confusing. > I would have expected a set of radiobuttons, something like this: > > 🞊 Do not embed fonts (lighter filesize, but less portable) > 🞅 Embed fonts actively in use > 🞅 Embed fonts actively in use and all fonts defined in document's styles > sheet That sounds quite reasonable (although I'm not sure about the commentary in parenthesis; it may be a better for the documentation or a tooltip). > It would seem to me that the bunch of other complex topics would be best > kept for a separate issue Well... there are the 3 other checkboxes below: "Font scripts to be embedded: [ ] Latin [ ] Asian [ ] Complex". Supposedly, these settings are independent from the previous ones, but not really: In this respect as well, you may want to "embed fonts that are in active use", i.e. if glyphs from the Asian font are used, embed it; or you could embed some fixed combination of the three fonts regardless of what's in actual use, whenever a font is embedded. So, would you say that belongs in a separate issue, or should it rather be considered as part of this one? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
