Bug ID: 170240
Summary: LibreOffice dialog buttons hidden behind Cinnamon
panel
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.4.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: UI
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
On Linux Cinnamon desktop, some LibreOffice dialogs (such as Options)
have their bottom buttons hidden behind the Cinnamon panel.
If the Cinnamon panel auto-hide is enabled, the buttons become visible.
If auto-hide is disabled, the dialog cannot be resized enough to reach the
buttons.
This appears to be a window sizing / reserved screen area issue with Cinnamon.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Log in to a Linux system using the Cinnamon desktop.
2. Ensure the Cinnamon panel is visible (auto-hide disabled) and positioned at
the bottom of the screen.
3. Open any LibreOffice application (Writer, Calc, Impress, etc.).
4. Open a dialog with bottom buttons (for example:
Tools → Options, or File → Properties).
5. Observe the bottom of the dialog window.
Actual Results:
In all LibreOffice applications (Writer, Calc, Impress, etc.),
the bottom buttons of some dialogs (OK / Cancel / Apply) are
partially or fully hidden behind the Cinnamon panel.
The dialog cannot be resized or moved enough to access the buttons.
If the Cinnamon panel is set to auto-hide, the buttons become visible.
Expected Results:
All LibreOffice dialogs should respect the reserved screen space of
the Cinnamon panel, regardless of which LibreOffice application is used.
All dialog buttons should always be fully visible.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
