Bug ID: 170615
Summary: LO saves files with read-only attribute set on samba
share
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
After updating to LO 26.2.0.3 (Windows 11) I noticed that files on a Samba
network share (Debian 13.3) open read-only after saving them with LO. Somehow
the Read-Only attribute as seen by right clicking / Properties / General from
Windows (11) now gets set on saving on a network share with LO. Creating a new
.ods file on the share opens fine (editable) and gets Read-Only after saving it
with LO.
- Saving the same file on the same network location with Collabora Office works
fine, the Read-Only attribute doesn't get set as expected.
- Saving files locally with LO works fine, the Read-Only attribute doesn't get
set as expected.
- Saving and opening other file types with other programs on the same share
also works as expected.
- It applies to at least Calc (.ods/.xslx) and Writer (.docx).
- Saving files on network shares was fine with 25.8.4 and before, but reverting
to 25.8.4 didn't solve the problem.
- Resetting LO User profile (clean install) doesn't make a difference.
- File permission aren't the issue here. It also happens on a 0777 file in a
0777 folder.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a LO file without the read-only attribute set from a samba network
share.
2. Save the file from Calc or Writer to the samba network share (and likely
other LO apps too).
Actual Results:
The saved file has the read-only attribute set (and therefore opens read only
after saving from LO.)
Expected Results:
File saved without read-only attribute set.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
