If the cursor is not on the text then yes, alignment won't change, probably
because you can align different paragraphs in a text box to the right left or
center, individually for each line. However, do you see the lack of alignment
when you click on the text and then try Ctrl+R ?

I agree that this should be solved somehow, since trying to align differently
multiple lines of text leads to an erratic behaviour (all lines or only some
change when changing alignment).
