Bug ID: 170652
Summary: Performance: Extreme slowness when saving a large
Impress presentation (50MB) after minor text edits
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I am experiencing significant performance issues when saving an OpenDocument
Presentation (.odp) file. Even after making a very minor change (e.g., editing
a single word), the saving process takes an unusually long time and causes the
application to hang momentarily.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached 50MB presentation file.
2. Navigate to any slide and edit a small piece of text.
3. Press Ctrl + S or click the Save icon.
4. Observe the time taken to complete the save operation.
Actual Results:
LibreOffice Impress becomes unresponsive for almost few minutes during the save
process.
Expected Results:
Minor text changes should be saved almost instantaneously, as the bulk of the
file (images/media) remains unchanged.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
