When I started the fcitx5-configtool it showed a message offering to update the input methods. After clicking the Update button, a search for Keyman (or Whitespace) showed the LOWhitespaceBug keyboard/IM (under English). Alternatively probably a reboot would have worked. However, with fcitx5 I see a different behavior: Instead of the expected result, I get `ab →` i.e. the space doesn't get replaced/removed. And with ibus there's another way to reproduce the problem: type `ab `, the press backspace.
